Initially launched in 2011 to replace its sibling, Wild Turkey 80, Wild Turkey 81 Bourbon was created to offer a milder, gentler expression of traditional Wild Turkey 101. Using a combination of 6-8 year old whiskey, this classically crafted NAS bourbon is composed of a mash bill containing 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley, and is aged a minimum of 4 years in charred virgin American oak barrels. Bottled at 40.5% ABV, Wild Turkey 81 is an ongoing release from the long-standing distillery and offers a nose of warm caramel blended with vanilla and deep boughs of rye spice. The palate highlights hues of baking spice, oak, and tones of sticky caramel candy.
