As one of the most exclusive whiskeys ever produced in Ireland, Midleton Very Rare is something very rare indeed. Only a handful of casks are deemed of a high enough quality to be selected for this blend, and these are personally hand-picked by Midetlon’s master distiller. This featured bottling of the 2022 Midleton Very Rare Vintage Irish Whiskey is sublimely crafted whiskey composed of a marriage of grain whiskies barreled in 1989, and pot-still distillates from 2009 – each carefully chosen by Master distiller Kevin O’Gorman. The culmination is a blend of 12 – 33 year old whiskies finished in a combination of lightly charred first-fill and re-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels. Released in limited quantities, the 2022 Midleton Very Rare is bottled at 40% ABV and features a nose of melted milk chocolate, honey, and vanilla-dipped apples. On the palate are notes of cream, vanilla, and baked sugar drizzled over spiced banana pudding.
