Sourced from an unnamed Kentucky distillery, this superior rye is composed of an equally mysterious mash bill. US*1 LR Barrel Strength Rye is classified as NAS whisky aged for a minimum of 4 years and bottled at 112 proof. Unique to this particular distillate, the rye is entered into the barrel at a lower, 103 proof, distinguishing it from the industry standard of a higher proof point. Produced in single barrels per release, Michters US*1 Limited Release Barrel Strength Rye offers aromatic notes of butterscotch and cherry seasoned with cinnamon and crushed graham cracker. On the palate are pops of citrus peel, spice, vanilla, and thick molasses layered over aged oak.
