Jim Beam Distillery once again captures the hearts and mouths of many an authentic whiskey lover with this 2018 release of Knob Creek Cask Strength rye. Bottled in 2009 with a finished cask strength of 119.6% proof, this NAS rye is said to be aged for a minimum of 9 years with an undisclosed mash bill (rumored to be at least 55% rye) and is finished in new charred oak casks. On the first pour, the nose is greeted by warm spices over butterscotch lathered oak, citrus, dark fruits, and baked biscuit cookies. The palate is hit with notes of more spice, grapefruit zest, raisins, dark fruits, and butterscotch layered in roasted grain cereal and toffee.
